| Timing: We can have it ready in six to eight weeks. Progress Reports: We pour a lot of ourselves into every model and we like to keep the customer involved in the project. When we have laid the keel we start keeping you up to date with our progress by means of weekly reports. Construction: We use the plank-on-bulkhead construction method. It takes between 950 man-hours to build one model. Materials: Bulkheads: South African pine. First planking: sapeli. Below waterline planking: American walnut. Above waterline planking: American walnut. Deck: sapeli. Deck planking: anegre. Caulking: linen. Deck fittings and longboat: American walnut. Cannons, muskets, anchors and steering wheel: brass castings. Transom and window ornaments: brass castings. Masts and spars: American walnut. Blocks and deadeyes: beech wood. Sails, standing and running rigging: linen. Finishing: Our models are finished either in American walnut or painted in the colours of the real ship or replica. The decks are built of anagre and caulked to give a realistic appearance. All ornaments and fittings are cast in brass. Registered and Certified: All models are registered in the names of the owners. A certificate of authenticity and registration is issued with every model. Display Case: Models of this quality is very rare. A model that is well preserved rapidly escalates in value.
